Young Africa Works is Mastercard Foundation’s strategy for the years 2018-2030, with the primary goal of alleviating youth unemployment and reducing poverty in Africa through formal employment creation. The strategy envisions to ensure 30 million young people in Africa, particularly young women, secure dignified and fulfilling work.

It is being implemented in Rwanda, Kenya, Ghana, Senegal, Nigeria, and Uganda in addition to Ethiopia.

Mastercard foundation is working with Kifiya to expand access to market and access to finance opportunities for MSMEs.

The InsuResilience Solutions Fund (ISF) encourages the development of innovative and sustainable climate risk insurance products in developing and emerging countries, with the goal of increasing the resilience of vulnerable households to the effects of climate change and natural disasters such as floods, wind/storm, and heavy rainfall.

One of the ways the ISF seeks to increase the resilience of these countries is through co-funding the development and market introduction of insurance products, as well as supporting the expansion of existing innovative climate risk insurance products.

The program is funded by KfW on behalf of the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation.

ATA, ISF and KFW are supporting us provide microinsurance to smallholder farmers to enhance climate resilience using Vegetation Index Crop Insurance.
